This Easy Breakfast Bagel Sandwich can be made with a variety of bagels, veggies, meats, and cheeses. This is what I use when making these Easy Breakfast Bagel Sandwiches:
For the bagels, you can use the alternative or perfect 10 Western Bagels. The Western Bagel bagels are regular size bagels, that taste just like a regular bagel, are packed with protein and fiber, and are low in points….I’m telling you…there’s nothing else like these on the market.
Here’s the breakdown of the Western Bagels Alternative and Perfect 10 their point values:
Western Bagel is located in California. If you live in California-you can search for the nearest location HERE.
If you don’t live near a Western Bagel retail store-you can purchase these bagels online HERE.
I buy 6-8 bags of bagels and freeze them for up to 6 months.
Yes! These Easy Bagel Sandwiches can stay in the freezer for those busy mornings when you don’t have time to cook or before you head out the door. To re-heat; remove sandwich from freezer and unwrap. Wrap a paper towel around the sandwich and microwave for about 45-50 seconds on high. Turn over and microwave for another 15 seconds until heated through.
Note: Microwave oven temperatures can vary, so it may take less or more time.
Cut bagel in half and place in toaster.
Spray a small skillet with nonstick cooking spray.
Cook egg how you desire such as; sunny side up, poached, over easy, fried or scrambled.
Cook sausage patty according to the back of the package.
Place a cheese slice on top of a sausage patty and then add an egg on top.
Cover with a lid and let the heat melt the cheese.
Place egg, sausage, and cheese from skillet on one half of the toasted bagel and top with the other half.
If you are making more than one sandwich; place each bagel sandwich in a square of aluminum foil.
Wrap and place in a freezer storage bag. Store in the freezer for up to two months.
